Role: General Operative

Galway Plant and Tool Hire (GPT) is a one of Ireland’s largest and most successful commercial vehicles hire specialists. We have 8 branches nationwide, serving the needs of both public and private sector customers. 

GPT is part of The Briggs Equipment Group, a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. We currently have a new position based in our Galway depot as a General Operative.  

In this role you will be:

• Assisting in movement of vehicles and ensuring safe working practices are followed while keeping the yard moving.
• Ensuring that all vehicles that are due to leave have a completed pre-hire inspection and are clean internally and externally.
• Ensuring good communication with all departments regarding the receiving and dispatch of all vehicles.
• Assisting in the refuelling of vehicles
• Ensuring customers are directed to safe parking/loading at all times.
• Full driving licence required

What will help you to excel in this role:

• Forklift truck licence (not essential as training can be provided)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Enthusiastic attitude and team player
